Biodiversity at the French National Assembly: neonicotinoid insecticides banned but ... in two years
Updated: Jan 6, 2022
The fate of bees is again in the hands of the French National Assembly. Courageously, in March 17, 2016, the deputies decided a ban on neonicotinoids, these bee-killers, effective from September 1, 2018. The Assembly finally takes its responsibilities regarding the dangers of these products. Unfortunately, we still need to wait two years for the implementation of the ban.
Bees and biodiversity advocates have remained mobilized more than ever during the second reading in the Senate. Sixteen beekeeping, peasant and environmental organizations led a symbolic action Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 10:30 am near the French National Assembly, at the first day of consideration of biodiversity Law.
